PLEASE NOTE CAREFULLY:  As of April 2002, Jamaican passports are being issued by the Passport Office in Kingston. Applicants should therefore read all instructions carefully to ensure that applications are correctly completed. Doing so will help to avoid delays in processing.

 

Renewal of Passport/Damaged Passport (Adults):

Two (2) identical color photographs one of which should be certified by 
  the Notary Public or designated officer who signs Section F

 

Expired Passport

 

Original copy of Birth Certificate

 

Original copy of Marriage Certificate, where applicable

 

Original copy of Death Certificate, where applicable

 

Original copy of Adoption Register, where applicable

 

Divorce Judgment, where applicable

If Jamaican citizenship was acquired other than by birth, please submit one of the following:

Driver's License from country of residence

Other identification issued by a Federal/State/City authority which 
has an expiration date (subject to approval by a Consular Officer)

All first time applicants must visit the High Commission/Consulate to be interviewed by a Consular Officer.

Mailed Applications:

Section G and one (1) photograph must be certified and stamped in the area provided. Persons certifying need not be Jamaicans or Commonwealth Citizens.

NB: Photocopies of documents, even if notarized, will not be accepted. All original documents will be returned at the end of the Passport processing period.

 

Validity:

Adult passports are valid for 10 years, minors for 5 years.

The Jamaican Consulate General accepts only Money Orders or Cash (Cash should not be sent in the mail). Personal checks and credit cards are not accepted. All fees are quoted in Canadian currency. 

The processing time for Passports is 4 to 5 weeks
